Law Clerk-How to become one

This is very moderate thing to do but, there are those who make this harder than they should so, let us talk about the first step that you will need to do in order to be a successful law clerk when you finish law school.

4-Year College Degree

Now what is highly recommended with this part of being a Law clerk is to take classes that show some form of concentration in Law and Government so, you would have to do Pre-law, Paralegal, Legal assistant, Political science, Public policy, Public Relations, Communications, International Relations/Affairs, and Sociology.

What will also be a benefit is to take a double-major in certain courses which will also benefit you such as Mathematical-Economics, Economics, Spanish, French, English, Women Studies, Africana / African American Studies, and Anthropology (Believe it or not this really gets people in the door).

In addition getting a minors in some other fields will also benefit yourself when trying to find a job as a Law Clerk such as Africana Studies, Public Health, Human relations, Psychology, Gender Studies, German Studies, Organizational Management, Peaceful conflict resolution, Urban Policy Analysis, U.S. Poverty Analysis and Finance

Those are just some thoughts you would may want to do in order to be on the right track so, It would be also a benefit to write this down in order to make it more beneficial towards yourself because this job does require a lot of writing.

2. Law School

Now after you have choose the college that you wanted to enroll yourself in the next step after your graduation from the four year school is the three year school and, now this is where it is getting good because you will have to step it up or you will fall through the cracks like most students. 

Take the LSAT before you gain entrance into the law school of your choice so, the school has a pretty good idea of what you know and understand when it comes to law. If you are trying to get a perfect score on the LSAT it is 180 so, study about an hour in order to achieve that or close.

Now after your four school has helped you prepare for law school and you gotten you LSAT scores back then prepare for the orientation with the admission staff before they give the OK because you scored really well on the LSAT does not mean you will get in.

Now you are required to do a one to two year clerkship while you are in law school so, this is where the real fun part begins because you will probably be doing part-time while still enrolled in law school full-time and, during the summer you will be completing a paid clerkship or internship as well as gaining  experience in this field.

After that you are going to take the state BAR exam and yes Legal Clerks are lawyers so, don't get it twisted.

***TIP***  If you wish to pass the BAR the first time take three weeks off and study from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm everyday of the week so, that you can better assess the material for the exam because it's long and hard.

3 Find a job 

Now since the third year has came and gone the time has come to find a position with the government or the local courts so, how do you go about finding a job?

Easy really go to your states website and see what jobs that they have for the courts because most states give permanent positions when it comes to court jobs and if you do find a law clerk job then get hired Congratulations you are now a Law clerk but, if you did not get a law clerk job don't worry keep trying and see if the position opens up again in another county or try another state.
