How to concentrate in Environmental Law

Hello Again

There is a growing field in Environmental Law which is very interesting because conservation status of animals and plant life have changed over the past decade also energy conservation is on the rise so, there is a chance of getting hired in this field now how does one go about doing so?

Well if you did not do an undergrad degree in fields such as Environmental Studies, Biology or Soil Conservation then you need to take a master course in such a field to gain a better understanding of what is expected of you when you go out into the field.

Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies is a great one to look into so when you decide to take in a career field in that concentration then you will be experience with the hands on training.

University of Vermont Rubenstein School of Natural Resources is another one that will benefit you when you go into a field of that choice and guess what both of these schools have a joint degree program with Vermont Law.   SURPRISE! You can go to both schools and concentrate on that field then have a superb understand of Environmental Law.

Also there are some graduate degrees to look into such as the University of South Dakota school of law that gives Masters degrees in Environmental Law and Policy so, if you do either of them or all of them you will be set for life!

Vermont Law has the number 1 Environmental Law program so that type of decision along side the joint major programs with Yale and University of Vermont will be benefical to you potential career.

Now that is covered if you have any questions leave a comment or an email so, that I can be any assistance to you. Good Luck and stay tune.

Law Clerk-How to become one

This is very moderate thing to do but, there are those who make this harder than they should so, let us talk about the first step that you will need to do in order to be a successful law clerk when you finish law school.

4-Year College Degree

Now what is highly recommended with this part of being a Law clerk is to take classes that show some form of concentration in Law and Government so, you would have to do Pre-law, Paralegal, Legal assistant, Political science, Public policy, Public Relations, Communications, International Relations/Affairs, and Sociology.

What will also be a benefit is to take a double-major in certain courses which will also benefit you such as Mathematical-Economics, Economics, Spanish, French, English, Women Studies, Africana / African American Studies, and Anthropology (Believe it or not this really gets people in the door).

In addition getting a minors in some other fields will also benefit yourself when trying to find a job as a Law Clerk such as Africana Studies, Public Health, Human relations, Psychology, Gender Studies, German Studies, Organizational Management, Peaceful conflict resolution, Urban Policy Analysis, U.S. Poverty Analysis and Finance

Those are just some thoughts you would may want to do in order to be on the right track so, It would be also a benefit to write this down in order to make it more beneficial towards yourself because this job does require a lot of writing.

Schools to look at when you want to start this journey into become a Law Clerk:

  1. Aquinas College
  2. Barry University
  3. Benedictine University at Springfield
  4. Cardinal Stritch University
  5. City College of San Francisco
  6. Colorado Northwestern Community College
  7. Finger Lakes Community College
  8. Florida Keys Community College
  9. Grove City College
  10. Hampton University
  11. Hawai'i  Pacific University
  12. Hiram College
  13. Hofstra University
  14. Keuka College
  15. Lake Erie College
  16. Le Moyne College
  17. Lincoln College of New England
  18. Lincoln College of Technology
  19. Midwestern State University
  20. Morgan State University
  21. Mount Alooysius College
  22. Nova Southeastern University
  23. Pennsylvania College of Technology
  24. Post University
  25. Quinnipiac University
  26. Rasmussen College
  27. Regis College
  28. Ripon College
  29. Roberts Wesleyan College
  30. Roger Williams University
  31. Saint Joseph College, New York
  32. Saint Martin's University
  33. Southern New Hampshire University
  34. State University of New York, at Oswego
  35. State University of New York, at Brockport
  36. State University of New York, at Fredonia
  37. State University of New York, at Oneonta
  38. Stephen F. Austin State University
  39. Stevenson University
  40. Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi
  41. West Liberty University
  42. West Virginia Wesleyan College
  43. William Peace University
2. Law School

Now after you have choose the college that you wanted to enroll yourself in the next step after your graduation from the four year school is the three year school and, now this is where it is getting good because you will have to step it up or you will fall through the cracks like most students.

Take the LSAT before you gain entrance into the law school of your choice so, the school has a pretty good idea of what you know and understand when it comes to law. If you are trying to get a perfect score on the LSAT it is 180 so, study about an hour in order to achieve that or close.

Now after your four school has helped you prepare for law school and you gotten you LSAT scores back then prepare for the orientation with the admission staff before they give the OK because you scored really well on the LSAT does not mean you will get in.

Now you are required to do a one to two year clerkship while you are in law school so, this is where the real fun part begins because you will probably be doing part-time while still enrolled in law school full-time and, during the summer you will be completing a paid clerkship or internship as well as gaining  experience in this field.

After that you are going to take the state BAR exam and yes Legal Clerks are lawyers so, don't get it twisted.

***TIP***  If you wish to pass the BAR the first time take three weeks off and study from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm everyday of the week so, that you can better assess the material for the exam because it's long and hard.

3 Find a job

Now since the third year has came and gone the time has come to find a position with the government or the local courts so, how do you go about finding a job?

Easy really go to your states website and see what jobs that they have for the courts because most states give permanent positions when it comes to court jobs and if you do find a law clerk job then get hired Congratulations you are now a Law clerk but, if you did not get a law clerk job don't worry keep trying and see if the position opens up again in another county or try another state.

Thank you for reading my posts and if you were paying attention and reading carefully then you should do fine.
